FAQ'S & Blog

Confident & Informed

"I appreciate when a client comes in having done their homework. Knowledge truly is power, but sometimes there is misinformation trolling around the internet. Every appointment time allows for a thorough consultation, where all your questions are addressed. However, focused consultation time prior to booking your service is recommended. Every skin is unique and can determine your service options, touchups and healed results!"

Respect

Annie respects your service time and the stories told between artist & client. This time is private and sacred. She is dedicated to setting reasonable expectations and sharing her professional knowledge. You can expect her to be 100% honest with recommendations and explaining processes.

Prep your lifestyle:

Strategically plan around vacations, medical procedures, spa days and special occasions.

Cosmetic tattoo's often take 2-3 sessions (depending upon service) with 6 weeks healing time between sessions.

We discuss all aspects of the client's lifestyle during consultations.

Read aftercare instructions so that you can feel fully prepared & ready to help your skin heal properly.

We recommend a clean pillowcase and towels during healing.

Oily skin requires special healing instructions. Please let your artist know if you feel that you have oily skin.

The day of:

Do arrive 15 minutes early, well rested, hydrated, and fed.

Your intake & medical consent forms will take a minute.

Expect a 15-20 minute rest while your first application of topical lidocaine takes effect.

Leave kiddos home, silence your phone, & relax...

Aftercare starts immediately; follow instructions to a T!

General Rules of Engagement:

Let any scabbing or dry skin naturally exfoliate away.

Picking can cause scarring or loss of color.

Avoid hot, sweaty exercise for 10 days.

Avoid direct sun exposure or tanning for 4 weeks after the procedure.

Avoid heavy sweating and long hot showers for the first 10 days.

Avoid sleeping on your new cosmetic tattoo for the first 10 days.

Avoid swimming, lakes, and hot tubs for the first 10 days.

Avoid topical makeup, including sunscreen for the first 10 days.

DO NOT rub, pick or scratch the treated area as this will cause scarring. Even "gentle" exfoliation is a NO NO!!

Remember, with proper preparation and aftercare, you will have much better results with your permanent cosmetic procedure.

Protect your Investment:

Once fully healed protect your cosmetic tattoo for the best long-term results.

—Use Sunscreen

—Avoid tanning

—Avoid chemical exfoliation (Retinol has been proven to discolor pigment and reduce retention)

—Avoid alcohol & ammonia-based products (hair dye, brow tints, hair spray)

—Always look your best with regular touchups

Studio Policies

Cancellation Policy

We understand that certain circumstances are unavoidable, and a cancellation may be necessary.

If you find yourself unable to keep an appointment, we request at least 48 hours' notice.

Please text or call us asap to notify your artist. Booking fees apply. When Annie is notified of necessary schedule changes, your booking will be applied to your rescheduled appointment.

A credit or debit card is required to schedule your appointment.

Children

We are a licensed tattoo shop. Please note that our environment can be a dangerous (and boring) place for little ones. Rose and Crown is NOT childproofed. There are chemicals, breakables, outlets, sharps, cleaning chemicals, etc. sitting out or easily reachable to little hands. Please keep your kiddos home.

Your Time & Attention

In a day and age of technology, we can't go far without using some sort of electronic device to enhance our lives. Although welcomed, it is requested that you keep your ringer on silent/vibrate and the volume down (or use earbuds) while watching videos, listening to music, etc. We do try to provide a relaxing atmosphere for all, which is hard to accomplish when there is unnecessary background noise. We also ask that all calls (unless an emergency) are postponed.

Rushing your artist will serve no one well!

Please set aside uninterrupted time for your appointment.

Appointments do occasionally run over the allotted time.

Again, we value your time and would hope the same courtesy would be provided to us and our time together.

Payment

We accept cash and all major credit cards. Payment is due, in full, at the time of service.

Prepayment or deposits may be required for services. Some services have financing options via a third party. Unpaid financing is reported to the credit bureau.

Running Late

If you happen to be running behind, please contact us as soon as possible. We'll do our best to accommodate you, however, appointments running 15 minutes or more behind may not be able to receive all services scheduled and may be asked to reschedule.

If this is a recurring issue, a booking fee may be necessary to secure your appointment time (this fee does go towards the cost of your services).

Refunds & Returns

We love you...and are grateful that you're committing to the art of permanent cosmetics! We love the skin you're in, but it can play a huge factor in your retention and color results. There are no refunds for services rendered. That being said, please contact Annie directly to discuss other options.

Yes, the struggle is real! I am often times the last attempt at hair loss restoration with women and their stories resonate. As we look in the mirror and assess our assets...we are met with self-criticism. Women and hair... full and luxurious are a modern-day beauty expectation. Renaissance women shaved or plucked back their hairline, as was the beauty standard of their time. Just as women did then, we find ourselves now with the same judgement of fitting a standard. And I get it! Our emotions are tied to our hair loss.

The majority of our Scalp Micropigmentation clients come to us after a multitude of doctor's appointments, serums and remedies to stimulate hair growth and get back what they once had. Some ladies are genetically prone to thin hair and have experienced it their entire lives. Others, have medical conditions or procedures that trigger hair loss. Whatever the cause, there is an emotional rollercoaster and so much time invested in hair loss management. There is no magical cure and often times, these women remain undiagnosed without a root cause.

There are options, hair transplant for one. Which can have fantastic results. But nothing is guaranteed, not even Scalp Micropigmentation. Everyone's body and skin is different. Unlike a hair transplant, Scalp Micropigmentation or SMP for short, is a minimally invasive, cost-effective solution. That being said, there is a 5% chance that pigment will not retain. Yes, 5% of clients have skin that is resistant... and in that we have something in common with hair transplants rate of failure.

There's no magic cure, but if you're ready to ditch the comb over, the colored hair sprays and powders... then let's talk SMP!

SMP Facts:

-90% of clients don't need lidocaine and nap through their service

-Immediate results

-Requires 2-3 sessions to achieve full results

-SMP is the art of layering and designing microdots mimicking healthy hair follicles into the skin

-Zero downtime to recover, however, you cannot wash your hair for 3 days post service

-Pigment requires a future touchup approx. every 1-3 years (environmental, skin cellular turnover & skincare/chemical usage affect retention)

-We offer a variety of pigment colors

Information is power and we wish for you to have confidence that SMP is the right option for you. If you are curious about learning more and if SMP is a solution for you, schedule a consultation with Annie or Dominic (our resident density SMP artist).

Wishing you the best, Annie
